A Kit Bash Extravaganza

From Dan Harden at 16:10 BST

There's been a lot of kit-bashing in the White Dwarf bunker this week, with several of us working on Space Marine squads and vehicles. Space Marines are fantastic for conversions as almost every kit can be combined with each other. While looking for inspiration we received an email from Michael Knightley, who wanted to share his heavily converted army of Space Marines and Grey Knights with us.

Every squad in Michael's army has been personalised to some extent. This Tactical squad alone includes parts from at least 13 different kits, though there could be more that I haven't spotted. Many of these are simple head swaps or weapon swaps, such as the unit Sergeant, which includes parts from the Tactical squad box, the Command squad box, the Black Templars upgrade frame and the Dark Angels Veteran box to name just a few. The end result is a beautifully customised unit that holds your attention for hours as you try to figure out where all the parts are from.

The rest of Michael's models are just as heavily customised, including the three Dreadnoughts in the force. The missile rack on the Venerable Dreadnought's shoulders is the spare typhoon missile launcher from the Land Speeder kit, as are the assault cannons on the dreadnought on the right.

Michael has nicknamed this tank the "Vindiwind" as it has both a demolisher cannon and a whirlwind missile launcher, which was converted using parts from the Chaos Havoc Launcher, the Aegis Defence Line quad-gun and the Land Speeder kit.

If you've got some converted miniatures in your collection that you would like to share with us here in the bunker then what are you waiting for? Simply click on the red button to the right that says "send us your photos" and get emailing. Make sure you include a few words about your model too, telling us how you converted and painted it.

In other news:

We've just heard from Fantasy Flight Games that they've almost finished work on an upcoming expansion for Talisman called The City, which includes new playable characters and adventure cards. You can get more information and regular updates about the new expansion from the Fantasy Flight Games website over the next few months.
