US Games Day 2012
On Saturday morning the Donald E. Stephens Convention Centre in Chicago opened its doors to 3000 excited hobbyists all eager to take part in US Games Day 2012. As the shutters went up and the barriers came down, a massive Waaagh! reverberated through the hall. The signal to advance had been given. The horde advanced. The staff braced for impact. US Games Day 2012 had well-and-truly begun.
Now, before we begin with our coverage of US Games Day, we've been given a video by the Studio talking about the new Daemons that we've got on advance order at the moment. If you're into pus-filled decaying monstrosities, fiery imps and scythe-covered chariots then this video is definitely for you. And if you're not? Well, you should watch it anyway because you never know, you might find yourself tempted to start a new branch of your miniatures collection.

This stunning miniature - the Wood Elf Forest Dancer Aloe-Wrynn - was converted and painted by Todd Swanson, who also won the Golden Demon in the Warhammer Single Miniature category with the same model. The character is based on Lelith Hesperax, though Todd has put an incredibly amount of work into removing the armour plates from the original figure. To be honest, you're probably not reading my words, you're just looking at the model. I'll let you enjoy in peace.
I thought I would finish off the blog post with a few shots from the event showing what people were up to during the day. There will be plenty more pictures tomorrow including the Armies on Parade winner - a beautiful Dark Eldar army.
