It’s Flickr Thursday!
Seeing as this week we're preparing ourselves for the the Daemons of Chaos release at the weekend, we thought it would be great to show off some denizens of the warp that you've sent in to us. The unit of Bloodletters above was one of the first to jump out of the Flickr pool at us and was painted by Daniel Leaver, who is planning to add them as allies to his Word Bearers Chaos Space Marine army. We thought the freehand work on the banner was particularly good - it's painted to look as if the rune of Khorne was actually glowing in the middle of it (which is entirely possible seeing as these are Daemons).
Khorne seems to be in ascendancy today as we also found these Bloodletters painted by Christopher Poole. Chris uses a very limited palette on all of his miniatures, in this case red, black and brass, which suits the servants of Khorne perfectly. As with all of his models, this gives them a suspiciously gritty and realistic quality that is actually rather unnerving.
Tired of all the Bloodletters, Tzeentch sent us a quick email to point us in the direction of one of his favoured servants - the Changeling. This tricky character was painted by David Stillberg, who opted to change his arms (the Changeling's, not his own) for a set from one of the original Pink Horror models.
This Daemon Prince was painted by Piotr Michalek, who opted to paint the skin tone much like the one painted by our 'Eavy Metal team. The addition of the huge shoulder pads suggests that he was once a Chaos Space Marine, but has long since ascended to Daemonhood.
And last, but certainly not least, we have this fantastic Forge World Keeper of Secrets painted by Gabriel Thorn. The pallid white skin tone suits this daemonic creature perfectly, as do the leather-like gloves and purple claws. The use of yellow as a spot colour is unusual (normally it's all pinks and purples for Slaanesh), but fits really nicely with the overall look of the model.
