Project Ceramite
Here in the office we love to hear about hobby projects that are going on in the real world, so when we heard about Project Ceramite from Andy Hajdu, one of our staff in Games Workshop Marion, Australia; we were both intrigued and excited to find out more.
The idea of the project is for each participant to build and paint a full Space Marine company (or Chaos equivalent) over the course of a year and then field it in one massive Apocalypse game. Three Games Workshop stores: Marion, Adelaide and Tea Tree Plaza are involved in the challenge with over 40 eager hobbyists taking part. That's over 4000 Space Marines on the table if they all complete their company on time. Andy has promised to keep us updated with pictures of the project as it continues, but you can find out more about it from our store Facebook pages:

Games Workshop Tea Tree Plaza
Games Workshop Adelaide
Until we hear more, here are a couple of shots of our favourite units so far. The Astral Claws (the ones in silver) were painted by Callum Stewart from Games Workshop Marion, the Celestial Lions (the ones with the lions) were painted by Tea Tree's Justin Briscoe and the heavily mutated Death Guard known as the Death Shroud were painted by Dion Lamont also from Tea Tree. The Emperor's Children at the top of the page were painted by Daniel Goddard from the same store. Congratulations guys, keep up the good work - we look forward to seeing plenty more pictures in the future as you continue your project.
