Digital Updates for Codex: Space Marines
The other day Codex: Necrons became our second Codex to be reinvented as a Digital Product, and very excited we were about it too. However, what we didn't know was that the Canoptek Scarabs have been working around the clock and have included all the updates for use with 6th edition Warhammer 40,000 in the digital version. Rules such as Hull Points are now included in the digital version, the Doom Scythe and the Night Scythe are now described as Flyers (though I think we all knew that already) and some weapons have been reclassified. In fact, it was the weapons section that excited many of the Necron players in the office and they rubbed their shiny metal hands with glee when they saw how powerful the warscythe is in close combat. The Night Scythe also has a frightening new ability in the form of the invasion beam, which allows embarked units to disembark even when the Night Scythe moves 36".
This would probably be a good time to mention that the digital version of Codex: Space Marines has also been updated for the latest edition of Warhammer 40,000. If you've already downloaded a copy then never fear, we've included instructions on our Digital Products page on how to get your updates. It's easier than killing Grots with a thunder hammer (and half as messy). In the future we plan to update Codexes and army books whenever new FAQs are released so that your Digital Products will always be up-to-date with the latest rules.
Now, for those of you that don't have an iPad (like me), all is not lost. All of these rules updates can still be found on our website on the FAQ page, which will be periodically updated with rules queries.
