Warhammer 40,000 released tomorrow!
The title of this blog post sums it up pretty well I feel - the latest edition of Warhammer 40,000 is released tomorrow. So don your best power armour (with or without spikes - your choice), hop into your Rhino APC and make sure that you are outside your local Games Workshop Hobby Centre first thing in the morning to join in the fun.
As is customary when we have a big release, every Hobby Centre will be running events and activities to celebrate the 6th edition of Warhammer 40,000. We've heard tales of some stores opening at one minute past midnight on Saturday morning for dedicated (and slightly crazy, I might add) hobbyists to get their new books, followed by an all-night mini tournament using the new rules. Some stores will be running an arena of death to test out the new challenge rules, others are doing a scenery building day to help you make army-specific fortifications. We've even heard tale that a couple of stores will be running an aircraft-only game where you can bring along your flyers and try to shoot each other out of the sky (flying goggles and scarves flapping in the wind are not compulsory, but they might give you a bonus or two).
All in all it sounds as though everyone's going to have a lot of fun this weekend. There might even be cake if you're really lucky. Don't forget there will also be some special merchandise on sale at the weekend, though we expect them all to sell out very fast, so make sure you're there early to get your hands on them.
