It’s time for some Dungeonbowl!

From Dan Harden at 10:06 BST

Today's post is a bit of an unusual one in that it's not about rolling dice and painting Citadel miniatures. Instead we've got some news from one of our partners - Cyanide Studio - who have just released Dungeonbowl, which is now available on PC direct from their website.

For those of you not up to scratch with your Bloodbowl, Dungeonbowl is the subterranean version of this classic game of fantasy American football set in the Warhammer world. The premise of Bloodbowl is simple: you pick up the spiky ball, punch and kick your way through the opposition's defence, run the length of the pitch and score a glorious touchdown. You then repeat the process until you run out of time or both teams are so battered that they can no longer fight. Dungeonbowl is pretty similar, only that it is fought underground in a nightmarish dungeon and the ball is hidden in one of several treasure chests (booby-trapped treasure chests, no less) scattered throughout the arena.

What's immediately obvious about the game is the level of detail that's gone into it. The walls of the dungeon are covered in billboards advertising halfling pies and alchemical soft drinks (both containing dubious ingredients), the floor tiles are cracked and chipped, spider webs hang from the walls and there are even cheerleaders scattered around the dungeon to encourage your players to fight even harder. And, if that still isn't enough for you then there's even a Dungeon Editor included in the game, which means you can create and play in your very own dungeons. To find out more about the game, check out the Dungeonbowl website here.

Dungeonbowl is available to order now, so what are you waiting for? Gather the team together, clean the blood off your spikiest knuckle duster and prepare for some action-packed, intensely dangerous underground fantasy football!
