Primarchs, Ultramarines, Grey Knights, and a Vampire
What could be better than a new book from the Black Library? How about four new novels and an Audio Drama? That should keep you busy for a couple of hours at the very least.
If you didn't see it earlier in the year, the picture above is the cover art for The Primarchs, the latest book in the Horus Heresy series. Contained within this mighty tome are four novellas focusing on, unsurprisingly, the Primarchs themselves - the greatest warriors that Mankind has ever known. There's a story each for Fulgrim, Lion El'Jonson, Ferrus Manus and the twin Primarchs Alpahrius and Omegon. If the previous Heresy books are anything to go by, then this one should be a real corker.
But that's not all from the Primarchs. Angron, the psychopathic blood-crazed slaughtermaster of the World Eater's Legion, now has his own Audio Drama - Butcher's Nails - complete with gory sound effects. We had heard that Angron was asked to be in The Primarchs book, but he got angry about it and claimed a whole Audio Drama all for himself. Apparently he needed more space to swing his chainaxe...
If Primarchs aren't your cup o' tea (are you mad?), then never fear, because the Grey Knights are here. The Emperor's Gift, written by Aaron Dembski-Bowden is a rip-roaring action-packed extravaganza following the events of a new recruit to the Grey Knights Chapter and the First War for Armageddon. For those of you that know your future history, then you'll know that Angron (now the Daemon Primarch Angron) was the perpetrator of the First War, so prepare yourselves for some extreme Grey Knights versus Daemons carnage.
Also available to advance order tomorrow is Ultramarines, the Second Omnibus by Graham McNeill. For those of you that have followed Captain Uriel Ventris over the past few years, this omnibus contains the latest three books in the series - The Killing Ground, Courage and Honour and The Chapter's Due. Has Ventris spent too long within the Eye of Terror? Has he been corrupted by Chaos, or will his faith in the Emperor hold out? Immerse yourself in Ultramarines, the Second Omnibus to find out.
And last, but certainly not least, Nathan Long has just completed Bloodsworn, the third book in the Ulrika the Vampire series. Having battled her way back to Nuln, Ulrika finds herself in the middle of a war between the von Carsteins and the Lahmian Vampires (never a good place to be) and must choose which side to fight for. Yet amidst the violence surrounding the two Vampire families, there is plotting and scheming afoot. Assassins are about, and they plan to strike right at the very heart of the Empire.
