Tervigon from the Flickr pool
If we turn our backs on the Flickr pool for just a moment, there's a good chance that more Tyranids will have spawned. We nearly missed this incredible Tervigon, painted and uploaded by Leadbelcher. We've seen quite a few versions of the new Tervigon, all of which looked great, but what I found particularly interesting about this one was the muted palette, which gives a different type of creepiness to the slimy or glossy versions. Here's what Leadbelcher had to say:
Leadbelcher: As soon as I saw this kit in White Dwarf I decided I wanted to collect a Tyranid army. I wanted a more dark and sinister look to mine, so I bought a box of Hormagaunts last week and tried out a few colour schemes before settling on this one. To start off, I sprayed it Chaos Black, gave it a heavy drybrush of Charadon Granite, followed by progressively lighter drybrushed layers of Graveyard Earth, Kommando Khaki and Bleached Bone. Finally I added some patches of Baal Red wash.
For its sack I used Dheneb Stone drybrushed with Skull White, then gave it a liberal wash of Devlan Mud, Baal Red and some Thraka Green. And finally, for the red of the tongue and eyes, I used Red Gore highlighted with Blood Red.
