Some last minute reminiscing
Warhammer 40,000 has been a major part of Games Workshop history, and tomorrow marks the 25th anniversary of the game. From the Crimson Fists that graced the Rogue Trader Rulebook to the Ultramarines on The Assault on Black Reach box, we have witnessed the evolution of a gaming system and, for most of us, our entire hobby has evolved along with it. In every Games Workshop store you too can join in with the celebrations. Not only will there be one-off exclusive merchandise to get your hands on, but there will also be loads of Warhammer 40,000 events to join in with, from Arena's of Death, to Apocalypse Battles and painting competitions. Don't forget to check your local Hobby Centre's Facebook page to see what they've got going on. Whatever you do, make sure you're there, because it's going to be awesome. We look forward to seeing you all there.
In the meantime, we're going to take one last trip down memory lane and have a look at a couple of models from the bygone days of Rogue Trader.
Maxime Pastourel painted one of the original Space Marine Scouts for the 25th anniversary painting contest that's being held in Games Workshop Strasbourg. In keeping with the age of the miniature, Maxime painted it in a suitably retro colour scheme, including plenty of bright red edging on the armour.
Ben Ballard sent us his Furibundus Dreadnought, which was painted to fit in with his Red Scorpions army and also to honour the 25th anniversary. It's quite amazing to see how much Dreadnoughts have changed in the last 25 years.
