It’s Flickr Thursday – Warhammer 40,000
It occurred to us this morning that our Flickr pool has been open almost a year now, and in that time nearly 2000 members have uploaded over 20,000 images. That's a huge amount of hobby, we think you'll agree. It also occurred to us that we haven't dived in there recently to see what you've all been working on, so today is going to be a miniature extravaganza (by that I mean it will be a showcase of beautifully painted miniatures, not that it will be really small). First up is Warhammer 40,000 and a trio of miniatures dedicated to Grandfather Nurgle.
These three monstrosities were painted by Banzai1000 who, by the looks of it, has just become Nurgle's latest minion. We were particularly impressed with the putrid greenness of them all and the use of purples and reds where Nurgle's Rot had taken over.
The Prophet (an apt name considering his choice of army) has also joined the Legions of Chaos and uploaded this superb Word Bearers chapel, complete with interior detail and a huge cannon in case the enemy gets a bit rowdy. Towards the end of the image slider we also included a picture of his Dark Apostle, which is based on a Space Marine Chaplain - very appropriate.
And where would we be without a few Orks stomping all over the place? Well Gabriel Thorn sent us some of his Ork stompy things, including a couple of Deff Dreads. The dark colour scheme is beautifully complemented by plenty of dust, rust and loads of bright yellow dags all over them to signify their Clan allegiance - the Gold Toofs. Oh, apparently the Deff Dread in the last picture is jumping up and down on the Rhino. It's probably best not to ask...
