Forge World sneak peek & new miniatures
Today, Forge World threw open their normally mag-locked doors, gave their gun-Servitors the day off and invited Games Workshop staff to come and have a look at what they were up to. I popped along and took these pictures through the occasional gap in the crowd.

This is a spread from the forthcoming Imperial Armour 8: Raid on Kastorel-novem, which is due out in the next couple of months. The book focuses on the Elysian Drop Troops and Raven Guard Space Marines as they try to re-take an Ork-infested world.
-
Volume 8 will be the first Imperial Armour book to focus on the Orks and features rules and background for all of the current Forge World Ork miniatures as well as some brand-new ones.

These Elysian Tauros Venators were painted by Phil Stutcinskas, who used two of the Elysian camo schemes presented in Raid on Kastorel-novem as inspiration. As usual Phil used Weathering Powders to add realism to the miniatures.
-
Forge World designer Stuart Williamson scratch-built this Mekboy Junka out of a Rhino, a deathrolla and an Imperial Moisture Condenser. There will be rules for the Junka in Imperial Armour 8, but no plans to release a model for it.

This is the new Ork Kill Bursta tank, a variant of the Kill Krusha. It's a massive kit, around 10" long and 5" tall. Click on the image to see the tank from the side.

Phil painted the chevrons on the Valkyrie Sky Talon by first painting the whole area yellow and then sticking on two strips of tape, before painting black in between the two strips.
These are just some of the new Forge World miniatures; you'll find information on the rest on the Forge World website.
Finally, we've just opened another new Hobby Centre, this time in Ulm, Germany. If you're in the area then pop down and speak to manager Andreas Eckert who'll only be too happy to talk about all things hobby.
