Converted Dark Elves; Competition winners announced

We got a great response to Andy Horsfall's Dark Elves that were featured on Monday's blog. And a few of you asked if he had converted any characters for his Corsair raiding army and if so, could I post some pictures of them.

Et voila:

  This Dark Elf hero is riding Balthasar Gelt's Pegasus that has had its wings and head swapped for ones from Morathi's Dark Pegasus. The rider's legs, arms and weapons are from the Cold One Knights kit, while his body and head are from the Corsair frame.

  Andy has modelled this Dark Elf hero by mounting the rider from the Beastmaster on Manticore set on Morathi's Dark Pegasus, and swapping his head for one from the Cold One Knights kit. To tie the Beastmaster into the rest of his force, Andy has armed him with a Corsair's weapon and added a Corsair emblem to the helmet.

  For his Dreadlord, Andy has mounted Malus Darkblade on Tyrion's steed Malhandir. He's also used a Cold One Knight's shield and added the spikes from Malus' Cold One to Malhandir's barding. Click on the image to see the model from the other side. Notice the sword arm that Andy took from the Executioner Champion.

  Andy wanted his Harpies to look less human than the standard Harpies and decided to model his own. He has used a plastic Daemonette's body and head and added a set of Tyranid Gargoyle wings that have been cut to fit. Once he has made the rest of the unit, Andy will blend the wings into the body using Green Stuff.

As I'm sure you'll remember, during November we ran a Christmas Wish List Prize Draw competition, where all you had to do to enter was send us a copy of your Wish List at the same time as you were sending it to your friends and family.
