Ready your crossbows – the Vampire Counts are almost here
The militia are turned out, the Witch hunters are on the prowl, and the Priests are working overtime in the Garden of Morr to ensure that the recently dead don't decide to go for a midnight stroll. All their efforts will be in vain, for the Vampire Counts have awoken, and it will take more than a few sharpened sticks and flaming brands to stop them carrying out their nefarious plans. The Warhammer world will buckle beneath their majestic Undead might, and the land will wither and die beneath their rotten touch.
So, er... happy Friday everyone! I find it's always good to start the day on a positive note, especially when it's Friday 13th - an auspicious day for the dead and the damned, and a bad day to be a black cat. If you have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, then where have you been, because tomorrow the Vampire Counts will get a stonking new Army Book and, as we all know, where there's a new book there are bound to be new models. So whether you're a Vampire Count, or a Vampire killer, make sure you head down to your local Hobby Centre this weekend to find out more about them. If you collect Vampire Counts already then you'll definitely want to be there to get your hands on the new kits, including the brutal Vargheists, Black Knight shock troops, and the towering Coven Throne, all of which are available as multi-part plastic kits. And if you don't collect Vampire Counts? Well we'd suggest popping in just to have a look at the Army Book, because you'll want to know what everything does and how they're going to kill your army in new and interesting ways.
So tomorrow morning, raise yourself a spirit host, grab your Mortis Engine out of the garage, float into town and be the first to get your hands on these superb new kits. However, should you not be able to get to the store for some reason (maybe you're invading Stirland or you've got to sharpen your fangs) then you can always click on the links below and order your shiny new models here. We'll dispatch them to you in the back of a Black Coach first thing on Monday morning. As an aside, the Vampire Counts Magic Cards are now sold out on the webstore, but there will be a limited number available in our Hobby Centres so make sure you're there early to get your set if you haven't already.
Don't forget to check out the full Vampire Counts range for all the other kits you need to build your army.
To celebrate the release, we thought it would be great to show off a bit of Vampire Counts hobby. David Perryman, who painted the stunning Ghorgon that we showed off at the start of the year, has also been hard at work on a few Vampires, including the massive Terrorgheist, a Varghulf and a whole host of Cairn Wraiths.
If you're super quick and manage to get some of the new models painted over the weekend (or even some of our existing Vampire Counts range), then make sure you send them in to us, as we'd love to show them on the blog. All you need to do is send us an email about your latest models, including a few pictures and a bit of text telling us how you painted it and what tactics you plan to use with it. We look forward to seeing an invasion of Undead flavoured emails in the inbox on Monday morning.
