Daemons Launch
It truly is a dark time for the lands of Man; this weekend sees the launch of not one but three new box sets for Chaos Daemons, with more to follow. The Gods of Chaos have chosen to reinforce their daemonic incursion and send forth one of the highest of all their servants the Daemon Prince along with the nightmarish Pink Horrors and beautiful but deadly Seekers of Slaanesh.
If you have already ordered your Daemons then you will be receiving them this weekend, if you haven't then head down to your local Hobby Center as they will be on shelves from tomorrow. Or if you can't make it down to a store then you'll find all of the new models below. Order them today and we will ship them first thing on Monday.
The Daemon Prince model can be fielded in four Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 armies. Daemons of Chaos, Warriors of Chaos, Chaos Daemons and Chaos Space Marine generals can all call on this combat monster. If you're a Chaos Daemons player then you can field up to six of these guys as a Monstrous Spearhead in games of Spearhead. The Seekers of Slaanesh make for great ranked-up cavalry in Warhammer. All five riders in a second rank of Seekers can make supporting Armour Piercing attacks. Pink Horrors have to be one of my all-time favourites, not only do they give Daemon armies shooting attacks they also provide magical support. In Warhammer 40,000 they are a Troops choice, which means that they can also win you the game by claiming objectives.
As well as the three plastic kits we are also realising the Changeling and Warhammer Battle Magic: Daemons of Chaos. The Changeling is invaluable for protecting packs of Pink Horrors with his powerful special rules - in Warhammer, he can swap his modest characteristics with that of any enemy model in base contact which is perfect for taking out Lords and Heroes. In Warhammer 40,000 he can force enemies to shoot at their own units; it doesn't get much better than that in terms of wiping the smile from your opponents face. The Battle Magic cards for Daemons of Chaos are still available but remember they are only available while stocks last so get your order in now or you might miss out. I've also included this months White Dwarf which is worth picking up as it has all the lowdown on Daemons including a great Warhammer 40,000 tactics article by Phil Kelly and a Modelling Workshop by Mark Jones on creating Warhammer Daemon scenery.
If you are looking for a new Warhammer or Warhammer 40,000 army then this is a great time to start a Daemon collection. I've added the books below, which will give you all the information you need to plan a force. I've also added the Daemon Icons Bitz Packs, which are perfect for tailoring your force should you wish to pledge your allegiance to a particular god.
If that wasn't enough we also have two fantastic models that are still on advance order: Kairos Fateweaver and the Bloodcrushers of Khorne. Order them today and we will ship them to be with you on the day of release on the 20th August.

Hard-hitting, brutal and very dangerous - several boxes of Bloodcrushers will have a Daemon collector beaming with delight.

Finally, I couldn't leave you without showing a few more Daemon models. Chad in the Studio has been busy painting Daemons and was keen for us to show you what he has produced. I'll show you some more on Monday.

For the flesh of the Horrors Chad gave them a Tallarn Flesh basecoat and then a wash of Red Gore. He then highlighted them with a 50/50 mix of Tallarn Flesh and Red Gore. For the feathers Chad used a Codex Grey basecoat followed by a Fortress Grey highlight and for the tongues he used a Liche Purple basecoat and an Enchanted Blue highlight. For the gold area he started with Shining Gold and then added a Gryphonne Sepia wash. This was then finished with successive Burnished Gold and Mithril Silver highlights. The claws were painted Chaos Black and then given an 'Ardcoat Glaze.

The flesh was painted with a Dheneb Stone basecoat and then given a wash of Hormagaunt Purple. Chad then added a Dheneb Stone highlight and then a final highlight using a 50/50 mix of Dheneb Stone and Skull White. He painted the hair using a 50/50 wash of Liche Purple over Skull White and Red Gore and the scales using Adeptus Battlegrey with a Codex Grey drybrush. To finish he painted the armour and claws using a Chaos Black basecoat with a Codex Grey highlight. The claws were given an 'Ardcoat Glaze.
Remember the Realm of Chaos lives through the dreams and nightmare of mortals, have a good weekend.
