Flickr Thursday
The Vampire Counts are preparing to lay siege to a Hobby Centre near you this weekend. To get ourselves even more in the mood, we thought we would delve into our very own blood-filled scrying pool (also known as the Flickr pool) to take a peek at what other great Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 hobby is going on right now. As ever, you've been a busy lot, so on with the show:[…] read more

Grisly Ghouls from every tomb…
Yesterday we looked at the two largest units in the Vampire Counts army - the Mortis Engine and the Coven Throne. Well today we're going to take a peek at the other new units to appear in the Vampire Counts list - the Vargheists, Crypt Horrors and the Hexwraiths. Oh, and the Black Knights. They may not be a new unit, but they've got some lovely new miniatures so it seemed a bit unfair to leave them out. Between these four units, you really couldn't ask for a more versatile Vampire strike force. Listen in, my young Vampire apprentices, and I will tell you more.[…] read more

Coven Throne vs. Mortis Engine, and a bite of Vampire hobby
When I got my copy of January's White Dwarf the other day, I saw the rules for the Coven Throne in there and I must say, they got me very excited. Normally I find myself motivated by awesome miniatures (of which the Coven Throne is definitely one), but this time, I was also snared by the fantastic background of this insane floating throne, the vicious stat-line, and the host of special rules that came with it. That got me thinking, what's better - the Vampire-laden Coven Throne, or the Necromantic might of the Mortis Engine? Here are my findings:[…] read more

Unleash the Monsters.
What a curiously intriguing trailer we showed off yesterday. I wonder what could possibly go on advance order this Friday - something involving crypts, graveyards and bats by the looks of it. But anyway, enough of the speculation, you'll just have to be patient and wait for Friday. Until then, I thought it would be a bit of fun to go hunting for monsters because we're all going to need some in the coming weeks to defend our lands from invasion by shambling hordes of... ooops, I might have said too much. I'll get on with showing off the big beasties before I give the game away.[…] read more

A new year, and some new hobby.
Happy New Year everyone! We hope you've all had a great Christmas and New Year and that Santa brought you all the hobby goodies that you wanted. I finally got my hands on the new 'Eavy Metal Brush set, and they were put to good use almost immediately (I had to watch The Snowman first - it's a tradition...). The tin they come in is pretty cool too - now my brushes don't disappear into the realm of mists and shadows beneath my desk every time I put them down. So with the advent of a new year, we thought it would be a good day to show off some of the holiday hobby that we've had sent in to our inbox. First up, we'll take a trip to the nightmarish universe of the 41st Millennium.[…] read more

Goodbye 2011, we hardly knew ye.
Do you ever get to the end of a year and suddenly wonder where it went? Yeah, me too. This year, my first working for the Games Workshop Web Team, has disappeared faster than a squad of Guardsmen confronted with a massive mob of Orks - I really have no idea where it has gone. So today I'm going back through the year's blog posts to relive some of those classic moments. Here are our top 10 blog posts of the year as voted for by you, the citizens of the Imperium (ie: the general public), when you clicked the Facebook 'Like' button in the top corner of each post. So, let's begin:[…] read more
