Training and Development
Games Workshop prides itself on recruiting the right people, with the right attitude and qualities. Through our innovative and comprehensive training programmes, we add to those key attributes the necessary skills for people within the UK Business to perform and progress. Games Workshop is committed to giving people the opportunity and support to develop to their full potential within the business.
The training is done by experienced staff - the training team, and external providers where the need arises, so that a balanced combination of theory and practical skills are accumulated to allow our employees to perform to the best of their abilities. An example of our excellent training is the Retail Trainee Manager programme. This programme is run with two weeks at Head Office learning management theory, then four weeks in an experienced manager's store so that they get practical one-on-one coaching and development, before running their own store with full support for four weeks. This is combined with workbooks, practical exercises and leadership 'away days' around the UK.
Excellent Career Prospects
Few companies can offer the type of career progression that Games Workshop does. As an expanding global company, opportunities arise regularly. We can offer structured career paths but, just because your experience may be in retail, for example, Games Workshop's philosophy is that if you are good enough, and show the characteristics required, you can break away from the normal career path and use your skills and talents in other areas. Basically, if you really want to do something, Games Workshop will do all it can to help you get there!
