Games Day 2011

Games Day is first and foremost a celebration of the Games Workshop hobby. Today this hobby has exploded into a global community and vibrant culture. Whether you are a current hobbyist or curious about the Games Workshop world, Games Day provides an atmosphere for those old and young to learn more about this unique hobby, partake in various extraordinary events, and share in wonderful experiences that unite this common hobby with people across the globe.

Dan, author of the "What's New Today" blog and Jim, his valiant cameraman, will soon be jetting off to Chicago to take part in Games Day. They will be there providing live coverage of the day, including taking pictures of your models and posting them onto the blog right there and then. Who knows, if you catch them at the right moment, you might even get yourself on film, as they will be bringing a video camera, too. They'll even be visiting the Chicago Battle Bunker on the Sunday to run a huge Storm of Magic game, so if you're still in the Chicago area the day after, then make sure you pay them a visit.

• Golden Demon Painting Competition - Games Workshop's premier painting event. Miniature painting at its best, share techniques and marvel at the painstaking passion.
• Art Contest - What would a purple Dwarf look like? Sit down and draw, paint or color your own character from Games Workshop's fantasy worlds.
